Xin chào! A member of our local team will be waiting for you at the airport, holding a PMGY sign with your name on it. From there, you’ll be transferred to Nexy Hostel, located in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, about 45 minutes away.
The rest of the day is yours to settle in, unpack, explore the lively streets filled with cafés and street food stalls, or simply relax and recover from your flight before meeting your new travel companions on the Vietnam Intro Experience.

Other Things to Consider on the Sri Lanka Intro Experience
Itinerary Schedule – The itineraries for our PMGY experience trips are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. While we strive to inform participants of any changes ahead of the program start date, daily activities during your time in-country may still be subject to last-minute adjustments.
Accommodation – All your accommodation is arranged by PMGY throughout your Vietnam Intro Experience. During your journey, you'll stay in a mix of hostels, hotels, and traditional homestays, sharing rooms with fellow travellers. All rooms will be single-gender and include air conditioning and modern, western-style bathrooms where available. Wi-Fi is typically provided, though it may be limited in some rural areas such as Pu Luong.
Our team will do their best to arrange twin rooms or single beds wherever possible. However, in certain locations, particularly during the homestay experience, shared sleeping arrangements or multi-bed rooms may be part of the local setup. Each accommodation is chosen for its comfort, cleanliness, and authentic atmosphere, ensuring you have a safe and enjoyable place to rest throughout your Vietnam adventure.
Arrival and Departure Airport Differ - It’s very important to note that your arrival flight will need to land into Hanoi Airport (HAN), while your departure flight should depart from Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) as your itinerary starts in Hanoi and ends in Ho Chi Minh City.

All your accommodation is arranged by PMGY throughout your Vietnam Intro Experience, giving you a comfortable and social base as you travel around Vietnam. During your journey, you will stay in a mix of hostels, hotels and traditional homestays, sharing accommodation with fellow travellers. Rooms are single gender and generally include air conditioning and modern Western style bathroom facilities. WiFi is typically available, although connectivity may be more limited in rural locations such as Pu Luong.
Where possible, our team will arrange twin rooms or individual beds for participants. In some locations, particularly during the traditional homestay experience, shared sleeping spaces or rooms with multiple beds form part of the local experience. This provides a great opportunity to experience a more authentic side of Vietnam while travelling as part of a social group.

As a PMGY Vietnam participant, you must provide a clean criminal background check before travelling abroad. This is essential to ensure the safety and well-being of the communities we work with. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept anyone with previous criminal convictions.
No formal qualifications or experience are required to join the Intro Experience programs — just plenty of enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to embrace new cultures and experiences!
Travelling overseas can be both rewarding and challenging. It may require physical stamina, adaptability, and emotional resilience. All participants should therefore be fit and healthy, both physically and mentally. For your trip to Vietnam, you should book your flights to Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi (airport code HAN) to arrive on the designated Sunday start date. This is the official arrival day for the program, ensuring a smooth and well-organised beginning to your Vietnam Intro Experience.
Upon arrival, you will be warmly greeted at the airport by a member of our local team or an appointed driver. They will be easy to spot, holding a sign with your name to ensure you feel welcomed the moment you land. From there, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation in Hanoi, where you can relax, settle in, and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
The program officially ends on the Friday of your final week. You will need to check out of the accommodation on this day to make space for new participants arriving for their own adventure. Our local team will be available to help arrange transport to the airport or provide guidance for any onward travel plans you may have.
