PMGY is an appointed representative of Howden, we have teamed up to offer an affordable travel insurance policy specifically designed for PMGY volunteers. This policy has been co-developed by Howden and Zurich, who underwrites the policy. This optional policy ensures you’re covered for all your travel essentials, so you can relax and focus on having the adventure of a lifetime. There are two levels of cover available to suit your needs, you can choose one of these or you can through a third-party provider of your choice.

PMGY Standard – This plan covers cancellation, medical and emergency expenses, personal accident, baggage, money and passport protection, plus coverage for a number of activities.

PMGY Plus – Building on the Standard plan, this option provides additional levels of protection and coverage for a wider range of activities and sports.

The policy is available to volunteers up to the age of 65 and provides coverage for all PMGY destinations worldwide.

If you do choose to select our insurance, it’s absolutely critical to ensure the cover duration you select spans the entire duration of your trip, including your travel days to and from your volunteer destination. When selecting the number of weeks cover you need for your policy, make sure to include both your departure and return dates to avoid any gaps in coverage.

The PMGY insurance policy covers medical expenses but does not include certain pre-existing medical conditions, including pre-existing medical conditions that required advice, surgery, treatment, referrals, or investigations within the last 12 months. If you have a pre-existing condition, it’s essential to carefully review the policy’s terms and conditions to ensure it aligns with your specific needs.

Both options feature 24/7 Emergency Travel and Medical Assistance through CEGA. This support team offers round-the-clock help to manage medical evacuations, locate doctors globally, or arrange emergency travel.
