If you are an ambitious, confident and determined university student who is passionate about travel (but not sure how to make those dreams a reality) all you have to do is recruit 10 people to take a PMGY trip and you will go absolutely free. All your accommodation, transfers, meals and in country support will be included and if you can convince 20 we’ll throw in your flights for you too – result!
You have a huge network of contacts at university, most of whom will no doubt be bitten by the same travel bug as you, so you’re perfectly placed to spread the word about a Plan My Gap Year trip of your choice.
You can run your trip at whatever time of the year you wish but generally speaking the summer months give you more scope. Choose from any of our worldwide destinations. The minimum duration for the trip is 1 week and you can go away for up to 24 weeks. We can be flexible with the start dates.
Organising the trip wasn’t nearly as much work as I expected. The support PMGY offered whilst I was setting up the internship was second to none. PMGY helped us set up the visas, drew up itinerary for the trip and really made it easy for the entire group to get ready to travel down to India. The trip itself was a summer I’ll never forget!
University of Aberdeen - India Team Leader (15 students)
The PMGY Team Leader role helps spruce up the CV by demonstrating you are able to handle a team and gives you a bit more to show off to employers when compared to regular volunteering. I would recommend this program to anybody who is looking to have a subsidised trip abroad and looking for something with a little more responsibility than your run of the mill volunteer project.
University of Edinburgh - Vietnam Team Leader 2015 (18 students)
I have been able to gain and use so many new skills throughout the process such as speaking in front of over 60 prospective travellers, marketing the trip on social media and of course improving my confidence in leadership! I have already been able to use my Team Leader role in graduate job interviews and as an impressive and unusual addition to my CV.
University of Leeds - Sri Lanka Team Leader 2016 (37 students)
Social media is your best friend here! As are info evenings, leaflets, lecture shout outs etc, etc, etc.
Money talks so once everyone has given their £149 Registration Fee you're all confirmed.
A great way to fund everyones trips. You could make it a group effort and it'll be twice the fun.
