You should apply as soon as you’re 100% ready to join us — there’s no such thing as applying too early for a PMGY volunteer program!

Most of our programs are open for applications year-round, but we strongly recommend applying as early as possible to secure your spot. Some of our volunteer opportunities have limited spaces, and they can fill up fast! If you’re planning to travel during our peak season (June-August), don’t wait — apply now to lock in your place and avoid disappointment.

All international volunteers need to apply at least 30 days before their intended start date. If you’re planning to join us within 30 days, please contact us first. We’ll quickly confirm availability and share any essential details you need to know.

All applications should be made through the program page of your choice on our website. Before diving into your application, make sure you’ve carefully read all the program details and PMGY’s Terms & Conditions.

When you’re ready, head to your chosen program page and look for the red ‘Apply Now’ button. Clicking this will take you directly to the online application process for that specific project. The whole process is quick and straightforward, taking around 15 minutes to complete. The more details you provide, the better we can tailor your experience to meet your expectations!

To secure your spot, you’ll need to pay the Registration Fee during your application. In the rare event that we’re unable to offer you a place on the program, we’ll refund your fee in full within 24 hours!

The application process for your PMGY volunteer program is straightforward and takes around 15 minutes to complete. You’ll choose the dates you wish to travel, provide some key details about yourself, and share your expectations for the experience. We’ll also ask you three questions about your motivations, experience, and what you hope to gain from the program.

We encourage you to be as detailed as possible in your responses. The more we know about you and your goals, the better we can tailor your experience and ensure it exceeds your expectations. This is especially important for volunteers using the program as part of an elective scheme. If you need to meet specific criteria during your placement, be sure to let us know in advance so we can help make it happen!

Once your place on a PMGY volunteer program is confirmed, we strongly recommend booking your flights as early as possible. Early booking not only secures your seat but also helps you grab the best airfare deals!

You have the flexibility to book your flights independently, but we’re here to help if you need it. With years of experience arranging travel to and from our host countries, PMGY knows the most cost-effective travel routes and the best airlines to get you there comfortably and affordably.

Having the right travel insurance policy is an absolute must-have for your time abroad! That’s why it’s mandatory for all our international volunteers to be fully covered for all their travel dates — including your journey to and from the host country, as well as any onward adventures. While PMGY works hard to ensure your trip is as safe and smooth as possible, unexpected situations can arise. Having a solid travel insurance policy gives you peace of mind and helps you handle any challenges effectively during your time away.

Tailored to meet all your travel needs, this policy is perfect for anyone up to the age of 65. It covers your time in any PMGY destination as well as any onward travel plans.

Many of our volunteers choose to explore multiple destinations with PMGY, and we absolutely encourage it! Volunteering in different countries and immersing yourself in diverse cultures is an incredible way to expand your horizons and create unforgettable memories.

If you’re planning to volunteer in more than one location, we recommend starting by applying for your first program. During the online application process, you’ll find a ‘Special Requirements’ box — this is where you can list all the additional volunteer programs you’d like to join. From there, our International Team will take care of all the arrangements for you, saving you the hassle of filling out multiple application forms. Of course, you’re also welcome to apply for each program separately if you prefer. Just keep in mind that the Registration Fee applies to each destination.

Yes, absolutely — group applications are possible and welcomed! Start by deciding on your trip dates and entering the number of people applying. Next, fill in the details for each individual in your group during the online application process. Don’t forget to mention your friend(s)’ names in the “Special Requirements” box. This helps us ensure you’re placed in the same accommodation and at the same volunteer project, so you can share this amazing experience together!

Please note that all of our volunteer accommodations are single-sex. While we’ll do our best to place you in the same room, we can’t guarantee it.

Once you’ve submitted your application, you’ll receive an automated email provisionally confirming your place on the program. This email should arrive within 5 minutes of completing your application. If you don’t see it, please check your spam or junk mail before contacting us.
